Restrictions by Nomar Knight

Restrictions!

Restrictions
By Nomar Knight

Can't stand restrictions
Since the beginning
Told I can't do this
Shouldn't do that
I thought adulthood
Would give me freedom
Only to discover
I'm faced with tougher choices

Should I be selfish
And embrace happiness
Regardless of who gets hurt
Why does love come
With those damn restrictions
Falling in love is great
But time and distance
May restrict access

Seems like everything
Comes restricted
Can't belong if you don't pay
Can't pray if you can't imitate
Can't express yourself
Without pissing someone off
So good luck with choices
Can't let restrictions hold us back

  4. Cool photo.

Very interesting topic. It does seem we have less freedom and more restrictions as adults.

Like how the lines seemed to be straining against confines. Adds to the emotion of the poem and title.
